I hate to bother you but did you ever figure out the exact torque specs for the rear axle hub to beam axle 4 bolts. I saw 61 ft/lbs on a drawing for an earler model fit. I bought the preindexed Moog toe shims 0.1- 0.5 degrees, they make a different indexed shim for the camber adjustment. They look like a gasket with the 4 bolt holes around the outside. I ordered them $6.60 each from rockauto. You can fit up to 2 shims per hub. They say to torque factory spec plus 10%, but what is factory spec? thanks in advance if you can help me. Answer per factory website is 47 ft/lbs plus 10%. !!!!!!!
Thanks. Since there are no shop manuals out for the GK yet (that I know of - other than the expensive subscription service, which I don't have), I used the TLAR* method, and they seemed to snug down evenly and with no apparent problems. The alignment will tell!
Thanks for the tip on camber, too. My autoxing coworker (Miata) recommended starting with -1.0°, but I'll go ahead and use -1.7° and see how it goes. The shop I use does some resto and rod work and should be cool with a custom alignment.

The 4 12mm (14mm head) bolts have factory spec 47 ft/lbs torque. My moog instructions for the preindexed black gasket looking shims said add 10% to that so 52 ft/lbs for my application
Thanks! I had a lot of fun with the Jazz/Fit, for sure... the SS is quite a different beast, and I’m really enjoying it, too. I’ve put over 22K miles on it since April.
I followed stembridges steps, and removed steering wheel. after reinstalling new wheel, 3 lights lit up ... can anyone help me brain storm some possible outcomes?
-vol controls works
-cruise control works
-I do remember installing the horn black connector
-I do remember installing the 2 connectors on the back of air bag
-I do remember reinstalling the screw for that grounding wire
Wow, no idea here. Those lights (other than maybe the power steering one) would not seem to have anything to do with anything on the steering wheel. Hope you figure it out! If you have an ODBII scanner, you might see if it sheds any more light.
