3rd Generation GK Specific Suspension & Brakes Sub-ForumThreads discussing suspension and brake related modifications for the 3rd generation Honda Fit (GK)
Filled the gaps in my engine torque rod with 3M Window Weld 08609. What I did was buy a new torque rod from hondapartsnow and filled with 3M to allow for a long dry time. Pretty easy and quick process. Just two bolts to touch. Took more time to lift my Fit than to do the actual swap.
Shift response has improved. More engine vibration is transferred. You can now feel the air con compressor turn on and off. This is kinda irritating but only at idle. This is the trade-off, it makes the car feel faster even though nothing else has changed.
I don't think this mod is needed for CVTs. Couple of concerns. Not sure what the long term effects will be on the engine mounts. There may be more stress placed on them since a flex point has been diminished. Also, I think Honda recommends the two bolts securing the torque rod be replaced. I reused mine and torqued to 65 ft pds. I'm guessing at this torque value so I will probably adjust when I get the correct value later. In the meantime, I paint marked the bolts and will check at oil change.
