Has anyone put full moon wheel covers on their Fit LX? Does it look as cool as I think it might, or does it look as goofy as I think it might? Am tossing around the idea of getting them when I put fatter tires on it....if the damn Coopers will ever wear out - am too cheap to replace perfectly good tires, even with the stimulus check, a healthy tax refund this year, and both the wife and I still working full-time (yeah, it's fun being a healthcare worker these days...not)
That looks really good to me. Any detrimental effect running that on a daily driver? I'm just thinking of heat on front brakes?
I ran Moons back in the day on an Escort GT that I owned. I'm guessing you aren't aware that you have to drill holes in your wheels since they're screwed on? Downside is removing three fasteners to add air to the tires and refastening them.

I have no knowledge about them at all so thanks for the insight. So no cutouts for the valve stem?

No cutout for the valve stem. You're lucky todays cars have some sort of TPMS. When I ran them, I'd have to remove the disc to check the air pressure.
They usually come with self tapping screws and were originally designed for steel wheels. My car had aluminum wheels so I had the tires removed, drilled & tapped them and used stainless button head screws. They work best with wheels that have a lip on them to help center before you mark and drill the holes. I also think the lip makes them look more "finished". If you don't want to drill holes in any wheel, they make Moon hubcaps for steel wheels, but they're stupid and generally not concentric.

No heat issues at all, we have been daily driving the car for years now. Even over long road trips. This isn't NASCAR and these Fit's are not heavy enough to worry about it. . lol

Bolt on. With official MoonEyes welded on tabs and quick release dzus fasteners. We also installed some factory TPMS in all of them. No issues but they look great and they do help the gas mileage some. We have multiple Bonneville built land speed cars for going fast.

Yes, I was aware they now made a Dzus fastener version and sold weld on tabs for steel wheels. I reread the first post. I originally misread it. I thought he was going to install wider wheels and tires which I made the assumption that they would be aluminum. I see that he only wants to install wider tires when his wear out. Anyway, I don't know if his car is running steel or aluminum wheels? I guess if he has aluminum wheels from the factory, it's not too hard to pick up a set of steel either OEM or aftermarket from Tire Rack or whoever? That would probably be the direction I would go if I wanted to run Moon discs. This is all fodder anyway. I assume it's for ascetics on a new street car? Back in the day I added them to my Escort GT for ascetics, but seen a slight increase in fuel economy. I question any increase in fuel economy on a 3rd generation Fit. I went from stock wheel with hard as a rock OEM tires to a 16X7" wheel and with running autocross take off RE71R or BF Goodrich Rival S 1.5 tires which are sticky 200TW and only dropped 1mpg at most in fuel economy with my driving style.

I originally had posted this in the 3rd generation generic forum, they moved it here. Yeah, it's a base LX with 15" steel wheels, and, yeah, obviously it's for aesthetics, which is the only reason for wheelcovers in the first place. The car was bought in '16 CPO in excellent condition other than the factory wheelcovers were kinda beat and just looked cheap. Been using a set of cheap charcoal covers from O'Rielly's, which looked better than the factory (it's a black Fit, and the current wheelcovers about match the tires in color, much moreso than being as black as the car) The current ones look OK, was just looking for something a lil different... I had had a set of full moons on a car back in the '80's, liked the uniqueness of them, just wondered how they'd look on a Fit. No intention of going to bigger/wider wheels, just wanna get some 205s to replace the factory size, again, more for aesthetics than anything. I love the car for what it is, but cheap ABS plastic wheelcovers and skinny tires are getting on my nerves anymore....not that 205s are "wide," but I've always replaced tires going 20mm wider and 5 - 10% lower in aspect ratio. Not going to make enough difference in odometer/speedometer readings or mpg to be bothered - it's the last thing I really want to do to the car (put a Tanabe Medalion Touring muffler and a rear anti-sway bar (Progress? ...can'r recall atm), replaced the toy-like shift knob with leather wrapped machined aluminum ball, a,d just under legal 30 tint. Love the car for what it is, just want a bit more meat on it and to finish off with some nicer wheelcovers than the cheap 15" plastics that are out there - I don't like being able to see the steel wheels through holes in the covers, current ones have pretty small slats around outer portion, very little wheel can be seen and it's unnoticeable with the current ones....the factory ones looked horrible, to me. OK, have rambled on long enough. Yeah, buying them for looks, mpg won't be affected enough to notice or care, just tired of the appearance of the plastic covers available. Moons popped into my head as an option, I see them in 15", and are certainly not commonplace, haven't seen a car in a few decades with them, until NWCH posted his pic, and I dig the look, may just well do it
Bike I used to ride had a moon wheel type for the rear, so I guess that's why I like the look too. This was my brother's bike I rode down to MS from VA for him (detour through the Dragon), but mine is blue.

Another option is not to try to hide the steel wheels with a hubcap. You could do something like what I did with my my original steel wheels that I use for my snow tires. I painted them gloss black, added pinstripe tape to the perimeter, chrome lug nuts and picked up some Mugen center caps off eBay. Probably have maybe $50 into everything. When clean they look good enough in person that a service writer at the dealer took a second look and asked me what they were.

Stock we had 16" Sport wheels. The steelies/Moon disc combo are a slightly smaller 15". I just found the stock wheels off of a base model Fit for $60 with bad tires. Then sold the hub caps for $90. So I ended up with them free plus a couple dollars in my pocket after. I just put brand new OE spec Michelin's on them a couple months ago.
I appreciate the love on the land speed look. I am doing a full Japanese hot rod theme with it. And I have a full Mugen aero kit that we are getting color matched and installed soon. And the car's nickname will then be "Moongen". lol
The Mugen Power and MoonEyes combo should be very hot together and look like no other! I also have more pics here if you click on my profile.

Nice bike....The Dragon is an incredible ride/drive, I live about 23 miles from the TN start. It's way too crowded way too often, actually, it's closed at this time, dunno why.
