True, but you don't have to shovel the heat. But it only got to 117 degrees this summer. downright cool.

 

We had a nice, cool summer. My electric bill said we had 28 degree days, compared with 6 last year. That means it was cooler this summer.

I read 16" wheels are hard to buy tires for? But I know absolutely nothing about cars..

16inch tires are probably one of the most common tire types. Most cars (even my 07 Odyssey) use 16" tires.

 

Check Craigslist or similar places. There are tons of slightly used tires and rims out there.

I have 15" on mine for winter. I like the slightly softer ride as I am on Swifts. Tires are

185/65R15 BFG Winter Slalom

Look at tires that are available and then give them a call. They are very good about giving advice. You don't have to buy while you're on the phone. Take time to think it over.

Having the snow tires on wheels is a big advantage, although the initial cost is higher. You can get steel wheels delivered for about $60/wheel. It will be much cheaper getting the snows put on each year - twice - and there will be less chance of damaging wheels and tries with each change.

Google snow tire reviews and comparisons. We have a used tire store in town, and they have very good tires at very good prices.

Thank you for the pics, I am thinking of going with the Sport Tuning wheels from Tire Rack also. It's great to see exactly what they will look like on my Fit EX also! Can anyone please tell me if the speedometer/odometer readings will be different with the 185/60-15 tire size?

 

Tirerack has specs that show revs per mile and also tire diameter. The taller 15" tire seems to be the same diameter as the shorter 16" tire. Placing one next to the other on my car, I couldn't see a difference. Since 15" is the standard size for the LX, it should be fine.

what are those center caps?

just got some used snow tires.. not sure where to find any center caps that fit

 

How did I know someone would ask about those caps. I did bookmark the page where the guy did this mod. I actually bought 6 so I had backups. I have a Dremel so was easy to do. I did find they tended to get rusty but they cleaned up in the Spring rather easily. This winter will put a heavy coat of wax on. They go in from the back of the wheel when you are putting the wheels on the car. Another option is to paint them with a rust proof paint.

You'll have to shop locally to see what's best, but they have always been the best for me. Unfortunately, shopping adds over $100, something you wouldn't have to pay locally.

 

What's the tallest 15" tire I can fit under there?

 

i went with the 185/65-15, in the general altmax arctic. at stock height, i think it is the most you can get under there without clearance issues.

it is much taller then the stock 185/55-16 when the tires are next to each other, but the fenderwell clearance only has to deal with half that measurement.

i am still waiting on wheels, but if you want me to get a pic i can.
