it is much taller then the stock 185/55-16 when the tires are next to each other, but the fenderwell clearance only has to deal with half that measurement.

i am still waiting on wheels, but if you want me to get a pic i can.
I'm thinking of going with the 70 profile but I haven't done the calculations yet. But if you could, measure the top of the wheel well to the top of the tire.

no way are you getting a 185/70-15 to work efficiently. it will be too tall. it is dark, but lemme see if i can get a pic. brb.

and log into aim...

Lol I just checked tire rack and the 70 profile isn't common so 65 will have to do.

good, because imho, it wouldn't work anyway.

ground to middle of wheel arch as is in my driveway is 25 5/8".

same angle with unmounted 185/65-15 general (mounted will get slightly taller)

i don't care what the math says, in reality it is a much taller tire.

Oh wow. It fills the wheel gap nicely

I would still recommend looking for a used setup. You can find all sorts of tires and wheels for half the price or less of new.

something to bear in mind is most snow tires have multiple compounds built into them. blizzaks have softer compound at the initial tread, which hardens as the tire wears. so, even though the tire has meat left on it, it will not perform "as new".

regardless, a worn snow tire is still better then a worn all season tire.

Right. Years ago, they started using a compound that was called hydrophilic, meaning it liked water, so it provides a better grip in wet conditions.

It's never a good idea to get the most possible mileage out of a tire. It's not like a tube of toothpaste.

Can any one with snow tires shed some insite on how the tpms system is acting without sensors or any configuration needed if you have wheel sensors. Thanks.

From past experience, if you do not have sensors installed and calibrated, the TPMS light will remain lit. You can have the sensors installed by a tire dealer or Honda. Then they have to be calibrated. Buying and calibrating is a very expensive proposition, especially when you consider how long cars and drivers survived without them.

I drove a car all last winter without sensors - no problem.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if tpms data is also equated in the vsc algorithms. That's why I wanted to make sure if any one has any issues in this particular car.

Glad to see you folks switching to winter tires. Makes a huge difference.

Does anyone know what size the center bore is for a Honda Fit? I know the bolt pattern 4x100 is the same as my MINI & the wheels should fit provided their bore will accommodate the Fit hub. Sure would be nice to use my current snow tire & wheel package.
