2018 HFP suspension on 2016, Verified good!

All,

Ive been looking for solid info saying that the MY18 HFP suspension fits onto the MY16 Fits but couldn't find any posts saying this for sure. Lots of "should fit" but nobody that's actually done it. I assumed they were the same as there were no chassis changes that I could tell, and rolled the dice a little and ordered a kit from Majestic Honda.

I ordered the Automatic kit: 08W60-T5A-100
The Manual kit is: 08W60-T5A-100A

I'm assuming a slightly lighter spring at the front?

Either way super easy to install (lots of vids on youtube and threads here) and they fit with no issues at all. Alignment looks good, although even with the slight drop the wheels look even more sunk in at this point. Handling is sharper and more flat as expected.

I would suggest ordering new sway bar end links as well as even after 4 years of winter driving I had to destroy one and cut the other to get them off.

You can edit your own post.

Also, yeah 2015-19 or 20 is exactly the same car other than cosmetic/trim stuff.

I priced this out and for shipping to Canada from Honda, it would cost as much as some coilovers. Still one day.....

The cost is pretty high, about $650 shipped, but I've had lots of low/mid range coil overs and unless you specifically want a slammed drop this is a great adder imo. Not only that but I feel like the resale value of a car with a HFP suspension has a wider market than "lowered on X-brand coil overs".

I went through the edit option but I couldn't remove an attached file even after I chose the option to do so. /shrug

I've read the threads where people said this, but to my knowledge nobody has actually put a HFP suspension on to verify.

I'm more interested in the springs as they are a mild drop but fairly stiff. I'm not personally into the slammed look, or trying to work around a rust coilover. I was hoping to pair the springs with adjustable struts.

I'm interested to see if the HFP shocks are compatible with the GK5 Swift Springs (4H916). Is the inner diameter of the HFP springs the same as stock (2.5", I believe)?

Thank you so much for the info in this thread. I'm pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger. How has the car felt, did it actually drop the 10mm?

+1

Seems like this site has the best price on it.
2018-2019 Honda FIT 5-DOOR Performance Suspension Upgrade, Mt 08W60-T5A-100A | Genuine Honda Parts (hondapartsconnection.com)
Sure, 616US sounds like a steep price, but here in Canada dealers don't even offer this kit (and if they did, they said it'll be about 1,500CAD).

Just pulled the trigger and ordered a manual kit from the US. Had to use a different site, as the one I posted above wouldn't do international shipping (Canada).
Really stoked about this upgrade!!!

wooooottwoooooott!

Gotta ask, why did you decide the HFP suspension over the RSR down springs? I just bought RSR Super Down springs but would love to know why you decided to go with the HFP instead.

less labor involved since it's all pre-assembled (and no guess-work in regards to compatibility with stock shocks/struts).
Also my front end already has a "clunk" sound which could be the upper mounts and/or struts too.

I did a similar swap on my 07 Focus SES. I purchased the OEM SVT kit, which was a simple bolt-in upgrade.
Despite no upgraded sway bars etc,, the car handled amazingly with that kit alone.

Nice, I really appreciate the info. My initial goal was to keep things functional as much as possible since its a daily driver while having it look low enough to look good but now I'm debating on sending back the RSR super down springs and just going with the HFP suspension. My 2016 CVT isnt making any clunks sounds but I dont have a garage so I feel I gotta chose one of these two options since I need a shop for help.
