A couple months ago I installed some drop-in LED headlight bulbs. The brightness is great, BUT... the DRLs are way too bright. For DRLs, it seems they just send less wattage to the high beams, but since the LEDs use less wattage anyway they are just always on full brightness when DRLs are activated. During full sunlight during the day this is not too big of an issue, but if you ever want to just sit in your car at night with the AC on (say, waiting for a friend), you are either blinding anyone walking by or have to shut off the car and turn it back on to reset the DRLs.
I was originally going to just pull the 7.5A DRL fuse, but I do like having the option of having them on during the day for safety/visibility. So instead I bought a DRL button and a fused fuse tap.
I purchased a DRL button that fits the Fit on AliExpress and a
to replace the DRL fuse. Combining those two allows me to switch the DRLs on or off at will. I did not wire up the little LED on the button since it is over 100 degrees outside during the day and I was being lazy, LOL.
I finally have a button here instead of all blanks! Two separate components Attached with copper crimp sleeves and covered with heat shrink. I briefly contemplated soldering the wires, but once again laziness won the day.
Or just turn your headlights on when you turn the car on. This is also what the parking light function is for. Having your lights on, without your bright headlights being on.

This is a completely pointless mod.
$13 in parts and 15 minutes of time and I now have the option to park in the dark as well as not having my touch screen dimmed during the day from running headlights.
You can also set your parking brake before starting the car and the DRLs won't turn on until you release the parking brake. Of course, if you arrive somewhere and want your DRLs to be off, it requires you to turn off the engine, set parking brake then restart car.
This feature also helps if you have a weak battery and want to lessen the electrical load while starting your car.
