Can't search for 3 letter words/acronyms like "PCV".
can anyone provide me with some images of the stock pcv hose routing?
My silly aftermarket PCV valve finally gave out (reed valves) and I can't replace it. I'm planning to return to stock. Presently digging through the manual, but would appreciate pics of someone else's engine bay! I'm looking for hose connections from the valve cover to the intake air box
My current attachment to the airbox. A little copper line I soldered and painted 😅 Hose running to valve cover (not so proud of this, just FYI) And I believe this little hardline piece is from the fit, though it may have been from my bike's emissions.
This should help. My airbox has been removed (Jetstream Intake), but I may have better pics without the airbox. Where the silicone hose is attached to my Jetstream intake is where one of the hard pipes would connect directly to the stock airbox. 2nd pic is kind of an upshot.
Your own pic for reference: You are holding it upside-down.
Yellow = airbox (no additional hose, just straight in to the rubber fitting with a clamp)
Blue = valve cover
Red = thermostat housing
Green = underneath throttle body.
@zcargo Thank you for going the extra mile with your posts. I'll be seeing about getting OEM hoses to assist me in finishing/placement, and your pictures and info will be really useful!
@Mister Coffee If you have the opportunity, I'd definitely still appreciate pictures of the above vacuum lines affixed to the stock intake. I'd like to see the mounting position of the metal tubing, as well as anything else you're up for sharing.
It shouldn't be too long before I can head to the dealership. Hopefully after Monday.
Here's that silly grommet's P/N and such, in case anyone ends up needing a replacement. Mine wound up ripping as a result of my stuffing an oversized copper pipe fitting into it, but I could see it taking a tear if you remove that there plumbing a few times.
Thank you kindly! All the images helped a bunch -- I know it's really not that complicated routing hoses when you know what they're going to -- but the way the coolant line passes through one of the metal pipes, it's totally unnecessary! But it looks good! And that's something my imagination just couldn't facilitate independently.
I'm trying to get the hang of forming my own hoses to have factory-style bends. I've been messing with ride-on mowers a bit, and it's a fun way to make a quick buck, but the hose routing on budget ride-ons is often nasty. Then, of course, there's cars people have messed with (as I have with my own...) Getting a uniform appearance, I feel, communicates that the technician really does know what they're doing, even if it oft doesn't seem to be the case.
