Did a DIY intake on my 1 day old Fit :)

About $50 in parts... and only took about 30 minutes to swap. I will add another 90 degree bend and aim the filter to the driver side, but they didn't have one readily available today.

I was going to put in the same intake. So how is your intake temp different now. Hopefully cooler? Does it sound any different?

Definitely sounds different. More agressive and louder. Not in a very bad way or anything

IAT today was showing around 73.

Definitely add the second 90 degree elbow. To me there seems like a huge difference in performance.

***Huge is a relative term to me for the actual output of my car.

from the readings car runs better with a chamber so the 2nd elbow
might benefit. im running the SSI. nice intake. ample responsiveness.

Yep needs the second elbow. That part of the under hood area had one of the highest underhood temperatures recorded in the testing I did. Moved over the 3-4 inches toward the fender opening with another 90 is a lot cooler. It they have extension pieces try to get the filter as close to the original opening in the fender as you can as the air gets cooler the closer you can get to the opening in the fender.

also remember too that there's a lot of air that comes in from the
front as well. keep it as far forward and towards the original
intake opening.

Nice work looks almost like it came that way. The color is a great match for the car. With the extra elbow the front end of the filter is in one of the coolest temperature places under the hood. Should work great. With you living in Texas and not having very cold temperatures to deal with any though on bypassing the hot water going into the TB?
