Got my first oil analysis for my Fit . . .

Dunno what oil was in it - whatever Carmaxx used. I changed it when the oil meter read 20%, couldn't wait anymore to get some AMSOIL in there.

Just thought I'd share . . . I'll update in a year when my next oil change is due.

Blackstone Laboratories. You can get a test kit sent to you for free, and it's like $23 to send it in and get it analyzed. An extra $10 to get a TBN, which gives you a measure of exactly how much longer you could have run your oil for.

Since I switched to a completely new oil, I didn't bother with a TBN on this analysis - although their notes mentioned there was a good amount of life left in the oil.

Thanks for sharing this. I plan on doing a few of these in the future. I want to wait until I change the oil myself so I know exactly what is in the engine. Dealerships don't do a good job of disclosing the actual oil used.
