Helloooooooooooooooooooooooo! n00b here

I just agreed to buy a Polished Metal Metallic '13 Base, 5 spd. $15,814 - which includes their mandatory BS $199 doc fee

I actually test drove a automatic Sport last night because they said they didn't have a 5 spd car, and I just wanted to drive one to see if I'd like the car. I was hoping the paddle shifters would give me the best of both worlds, but it just wasn't the same. After the test drive they found the 5 spd base car on their lot and the 5 spd was definitely more to my liking.

This will be car number 19 for me, and my 2nd Honda. My first Honda was a $650 '81 Accord Hatch I bought in '92, and that is the car I learned to drive a stick on, cementing my love of the 3rd pedal. I had a lot of fun driving that car.

It's replacing a 2009 WRX, which is close to the top of my favorite cars that I've owned. But with myself finally finding an awesome woman to share my life with, and wanting to buy a 2nd house - spending $200 a month on gas ( ) doesn't cut it.

For now the only mods will be some tint and some mudflaps, possibly some fog lights because I was surprised how well they seemed to work on the Sport. They're much better than the ones on my WRX.

Congrats on the new partner and the new car! Sorry that you had to sacrifice the amenities that come on a Sport model, and welcome to the forums (at least you get Honda mud flaps that are made for your car- we Sport owners can't use 'em). This from someone who has had 18 cars/trucks, and two wives (still have the second one after 31 years). Woops. That meant wife, not 2nd. car (but I wish that I still had the car- '57 Ford Fairlane 292).

Good luck with the romance and the Fit.
