Question Trade the 2010 Sport A/T for 2014 Sport M/T?

Hey Fit Fam,

I have a 2010 Taffeta A/T and was totally thinking today, asking, should I trade in my 2010 for the 2014, along with it being M/T?

Any thoughts on previous owners doing the same move or what not?

How's the 2014 compared to the 2010?

Plus i'm aware of the 2015/3rd Gen coming out, but i'm not sure if i'm feeling that style.

Any thoughts would be appreciative!!

Welcome to Da Fambly.

There is no 2014 Fit - it's just the 2013 carried over. You might be able to get a good deal on a '13, but you'd have to look for a stick. Consider a slightly used stick as well. The 2013 is basically the same as your car, with just a few changes. I bought a 2013 5 MT in Jan of this year, had about 4,000 miles on it. Am very happy with the car. Hope you find the car you want.

There's not a 2014 model fit. If you want the current model it would be a 2013. The 2013 wouldn't be much of an upgrade over your 2010 though. The only major things that would be different would be a slightly changed front end fascia, different wheels, slightly better sound proofing, and steering wheel mounted audio controls.
My vote would be to get one of the new 2015 models. They should be hitting most dealer lots in the next month or so and look to be improved in almost every aspect over the current models.

Just made the switch from a 11 autotragic to a 13 manual. So far I'm loving it. Seat fabrics different, plastic for upper glovebox, radio dark gray now, steering wheel stereo controls. Lower interest rate and lower monthly, couldn't say no.

I've thought that about a lot of new vehicles, but they seem to grow on you after a while. Hopefully the new Fit is this way too. I like the looks except for I'm not crazy about the crease on the side and the back end isn't as attractive as the current gen Fits. I'm sure there will be plenty of aftermarket body kits available eventually though.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

My take, if you are currently on a Honda lease, return the '10 and get into a '13. Your best deal might be with an auto as opposed to a M/T (due to the A/T's higher residual value).
Drive the '13 for the next 2 or 3 yrs.
By the time the lease is over, see if the '15 has grown on you. The lease rates, by then, should be more attractive. If the GK style still does'nt do it, then just keep the '13.

On the other hand, if you own it, I would just keep the '10 for the next couple of years or more to make depreciation worth your while. That's what I did and my '08 GD just keeps rolling along.

i cant speak for the 2014's since ive not driven one, but i can tell you that my AT and MT GE's are 2 completely different cars. it is a night/day difference as far as fun to drive.

if you can drive MT and more of a driver kinda guy, definitely worth getting the MT. i honestly dont like my 09 AT. only reason why i bought it is because my wife cant drive MT. and the "driving MT is tiring in congestion" is all bs. the clutch is light and i dd my MT. bumper to bumper is no issue.

Not only haven't you driven one, we all can't in the US. There is no 2014 Fit.
Honda is unloading whatever they have left of 2013's. Next model will be the 2015's.
Some countries in Europe & Asia plus Canada would still have 2014 Fits/Jazz.

oh is that right? i guess that's a good thing then cause the '14 will probably have all the fixes and lots of options pretty much in the price.

forgot to mention one more thing... pedal position. the MT has a tad more leg room vs the AT. i feel cramped when driving my AT (long legs, short arms), but in my MT, i can go 2+hrs without a stop not feeling tired.

One thing about a Fit is that the back seats fold flat. I always see car comparisons, Fit vs Fiesta, Versa Note, etc - but none of those cars have seats that fold flat. I liked the Hyundai Accent, but the seats were the deal breaker for me. Also, you can lower the rear seat head rests down to the point where you can actually see out of the rear view mirror. Can't do that in any other cars in the Fit's class.

Fit, gotta be a Fit......

Thanks for the feedback fam!!

I own the 2010 and I bought A/T because I tend to be driver and do long trips; and need a driver in case I switch up. But after a long while, I've been driving solo for work and wish I just had M/T from the getgo. I randomly thought of the idea of trading it in for the 2013/2014 is a good idea (soley to have an excuse to pick up M/T). But after reading @Rottboy's feedback, I might just have to do that. Keep the car, stick with it and its worth.

I agree with @siguy, I do like the Fit compared to most hatchbacks due to the functionality of fold-down seats and all the crazy room that little car has to offer.

The next thing I want to do, is look into getting a roof rack for my roadbike/ snowboard(when in season).

Again thanks for the feedback!

Gotta a $5 solution to make looking at the side of the GK more pleasing. A set of i-VTEC DOHC stickers on the bottom of each rear door in the color of your choice. It does'nt make a wanna-be statement but lets lookers know the facts.
My ride won't be here for months but my set is on the way. Thank you EBAY!!!!!!!!

I would agree. I have a set of the i-Vtec vinyls on my Fit and I think it gives it a little something extra in the sporty looks department.
