Where to put a GPS?

I picked up my Honda Fit LX yesterday and getting a Garmin Nuvi 52LM tomorrow. Contemplating where to put the GPS unit in short of having a beanbag type base on the dashboard. Any recommendation for a bottle holder mount or any other permanent solution? If yours is installed a picture would be greatly appreciated. Open to any ideas and suggestions. Thank you in advance!

I have the bean bag and it's been great in previous cars. The Dash on the '15 seems a little more slick so it slid around a lot. I have a Nuvi 2360, probably smaller than what your getting, but it fits great in the upper cup holder. By expanding the cup holder it fits right in the gap. I just run the power cord over the steering wheel to the front DC socket. It may not be great for a permanent location, but it is conveniently in arms reach. I just got a Dashmat, so the beanbag sliding probably won't be an issue anymore.

Here's what I did (GE8, but I think something similar would work on the new Fits). This is the usual suction cup mount, with one of those adhesive-backed disks to let it adhere to. It works nicely and is convenient to poke at and doesn't block any view through the windshield. (Well, I guess it does block a bit of the windshield wiper from view....)

Thank you both for your pictures. They clearly show two of our options.

I'll take a picture later today to show what I'm talking about, but I use the Garmin bean bag holder and place it right on top of the "flat" trim that's right over the center vents and audio. It barely fits, but hasn't fallen off or slipped yet, even though I have encountered some pot holes.

Here's where I have my Garmin. The power cord goes into the center storage area.

I didn't think about putting mine there, I like it since it is more or less hidden from the "bad guys" who like to steal those things. How is it when you're driving, since you have to take your eyes so far off the road?

That's a decent spot. It's a little further down got looking away from the road than I would prefer for myself. But that's where my Scangauge is. :-) Good place for accessories, though.

I put my Garmin in the suction-cup bracket, and attach it to the driver's side "quarter window". It's easy to see there, but it doesn't block my view of the road. The power cable I run down the inside of the door frame, under the dash, over the steering column to the power outlet.

What size/model is that Garmin? I'm looking to do the same thing but I don't know if the 5", 6", or 7" would be best.
