What gauges do you like to use on your Scangauge II

Voltage and Water Temp, on mine. Mph and RPMs but those are redundant obviously. Just curious to see what my fellow Fit owners use and why, and what metrics you are looking for.

Fill car, drive car till near empty, divide miles driven by gallons purchased.

That is the easy way to find out if the scangauge is accurate. I would be shocked if you're not averaging 30+mpg.

I'm hoping it is just the mode, I had it set for CANSF for the toyota, and Honda uses CANLF. I will change modes and report back.

I will do a fillip and calculate but just filled up Saturday and have 3/4 tank.

I dont want to be that "read the manual" guy, but .... read the manual. it shows how to calibrate

also, you'll learn some neat stuff in there that you may have never cared for. in my case, I never gave a crap about "TPS".... now I'm all about that life

I downloaded the manual but so far just changed some things in set up. Engine size from 3L to 1.5L and tank capacity to 11 gallons at least now it is in the ball park.

what does TPS do for you evil?

it shows how much of my FOOT is depressing the gas pedal. TPS at 13 = foot off the pedal

I try to keep TPS at 19-20 , for me at least .... I find that it brings in the best mpg and not drive TOO slow to annoy other cars on the road (on the commute to work, on the flats, it usually makes out to 65 mph)

CyclingFit likes to use his SG to monitor temps. IAT, Water Temps, and CVT Temps.

Personally, I pref:

-MPG: instant MPG, how can people live without this thing?! I use this hand in hand with TPS to get valuable data/best mpg
-TPS: I try to keep this under 20 for best mpg. for reference, tps 13 = idle.

what does IAT monitor? I bought this car used and haven’t changed the spark plugs yet. Do you know if the ignition can be monitored and what to look for?

thanks for your reply, evilcf
