I am going to buy new tires soon for my 2015 ex-l. I want to go up to 205x50s. What are good for SF Bay Area driving? Not ultra performance but something in the middle of that and higher mileage.
Thanks!
D
Not sure about good for an area of driving, but I've been happy with my Altimax RT43 in 205/50/16. They've been wearing pretty well: My Altimax RT43 rotation
discount tires thanksgiving sale coming up, should be about 20% off. depending on your budget.... you can filter by "good, better, best" and from there, fine tune to your pref towards all seasons or summer performance or winter tires, etc etc
For daily driving I have Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's in a 205/50R16 I purchased based on TireRack recommendations. I purchased off Tire Rack recommendations and they seem OK?
If you haven't bought yet look at the Continental Extreme contact DWS 205-50-16 ..I have a set on my 2015 and in every way fantastic performance. I nightly recommend them.

I've used these tires as well; they offer good performance for their price.
I ended up going with the B.F. Goodrich Advantage TA 250/50/16 and am happy. They have an aggressive side wall which is good for how I am using my fit almost as a mini suv. I would say m.p.g has dropped by about 1 . Considering the bigger size and not a light tire, I am ok with it.
Anyone else have a good recommendation for high fuel economy and low wear (long life) tires for the GK? I see the Altimax and Firehawk recos but no others. Dunlop used to make a low friction tires that was good for the Civics but is no longer selling in the US.

after switching away from hankook ventus v2's, I find myself now hitting 35-37 mpg instead of the usual 40 (same commute, same right foot). new tires are the same spec, but they are heavier, more sticky.... kinda sorta, and have a taller side wall (Achilles atr sport)
they lasted 30k, perhaps coulda squeezed out 35k if I really pushed it.

If you can believe it, I'm still about 5/32nds on my Altimaxs and I've driven around 40k on the tires now. General Altimax - Update
It sounds like a lot of Fit owners with stock 16" wheels are running 205/50-16 tyres, they fit on the OEM alloys, and you have no problems with clearance or contact issues?

Thanks very much for your help.
I have B.F. Goodrich in that size and no issues. They actually protect the rim better than the stock Firestones that they replaced.
