i drive 25-30 miles a day usually get 30mpg, i drive 70-80mph on the 405. Best way to gain mpg is shed weight and improve areodynamics...so titanium exhaust and body kit here i come

It also seems that whenever I fill Shell gas my mpg suffers. I have no idea why. I filled Shell the other day and I've been driving slow, yet my tank seems to be going faster than when I had 5 people in the car + A/C.

BTW: What part of SD are you from mzamike? I see like 3-4 Fits at Mesa College everyday and I wonder who they are.
I'm from Ranch Penasquitos. I'm seeing a lot more fits driving around in san diego in general. I'm not mad though cuz they're great cars. That's crazy how you guys are gettin like more than 30 mpg on a daily basis. i think i'll work on the jackrabbit starts cuz i think i tend to do that. hard to keep u'r gas pedal in check when this car is so much fun to drive!

lowest 29.19 / highest 43.98

With 11,951 miles on the odometer, I am averaging 36.9 MPG overall, with only one tank below 30 MPG and 8 tanks over 40 MPG (which were mostly highway miles).

I have a stick shift, but I drive for economy in the city, which means planning ahead, no jack rabbit starts, and anticipating traffic lights. On the highway, I usually keep the speedometer right at 70 MPH, if it's legal.

What a great little car, this fit is and I saw three other Fits in less than 20 minutes on surface streets today in La Mirada.

I have the MT and I was routinely getting 34-37MPG 100% city
and 42mpg on the highway (on the rare occasions I drive on the highway now)

but since my first oil change (very recently) I have been only getting 32-34 100% city and maybe 36 or 37 highway. But it seems to be getting slowly better again (just like bran spankin new, its mpgs were fugly then got great quickly)

I do tons of stuff to get this (except highway, cuz I don't really care then) like coasting in gear to stops when at 1500 rpm I downshift and repeat. I also pay attention to traffic patterns and drive smooth.

I dont accelerate slow and I am up with traffic most if not all of the time.

im constantly getting 30mpg! this is the most common number i get.

i always drive 68 on the fwy unless i am temporarily on the fast lane to pass people going slower than me.

And on the streets i never pass 3000rpm while driving! i always shift around 2800 and i am very smooth with my inputs making sure not to accelerate or brake abruptly... Grr! i wanna hit those high 30's and low 40's

i barely get 290-310 in one tank, with a short ram intake and hks axleback. I usually do 10, to 210, and for some reason going 60 is really hard there, so its more like 65-78 :-\

I get 33 to 36 mpg with about 80% freeway driving. That is when I do my 52 mile work commute from Temecula to Loma Linda. It drops to 28 to 30 mpg if I do mostly city.

How much did the Honda locking fuel cap run you? Does it have a tether like the original? On a side note, I wonder if it is even possible to siphon the gas with the Fit's fuel tank being so far from the refueling access.

bought it from a member for $30 shipped, it's like $30 something if you buy it new, still trying to figure out how to fit the cap into the cable that's holding the original cap, the locking cap seems to be bigger at the top of the cap but the thread fits perfect
