mpg in socal
Well for me it run between 34 to 36 avg...mostly HWY ( 60 miles round trip) to work! and I go between 70 to 85mph on HWY and when I drove only city I was round 32 to 34 avg and I go between 35 to 55mph... and I don't drive like grandma too!!!
San Juan Capistrano!!! plus it doesn't include the traveling around to our community around Socal!!!
Best I've gotten on my AT Fit was 32.5 mpg. Second best was 32.0 mpg, and that was using the A/C the whole time, driving around the city/freeway with 5 people in my car. Weird huh?
It also seems that whenever I fill Shell gas my mpg suffers. I have no idea why. I filled Shell the other day and I've been driving slow, yet my tank seems to be going faster than when I had 5 people in the car + A/C.
BTW: What part of SD are you from mzamike? I see like 3-4 Fits at Mesa College everyday and I wonder who they are.

lowest 29.19 / highest 43.98
With 11,951 miles on the odometer, I am averaging 36.9 MPG overall, with only one tank below 30 MPG and 8 tanks over 40 MPG (which were mostly highway miles).
I have a stick shift, but I drive for economy in the city, which means planning ahead, no jack rabbit starts, and anticipating traffic lights. On the highway, I usually keep the speedometer right at 70 MPH, if it's legal.
What a great little car, this fit is
and I saw three other Fits in less than 20 minutes on surface streets today in La Mirada.

I have the MT and I was routinely getting 34-37MPG 100% city
and 42mpg on the highway (on the rare occasions I drive on the highway now)
but since my first oil change (very recently) I have been only getting 32-34 100% city and maybe 36 or 37 highway.
But it seems to be getting slowly better again
(just like bran spankin new, its mpgs were fugly then got great quickly)
I do tons of stuff to get this (except highway, cuz I don't really care then) like coasting in gear to stops when at 1500 rpm I downshift and repeat. I also pay attention to traffic patterns and drive smooth.
I dont accelerate slow and I am up with traffic most if not all of the time.

oh and I have noticed (not only form the scangauge posts) from my observations that in the city if I can stay around 35-40mph I kick major EPA butt!

im constantly getting 30mpg! this is the most common number i get.
i always drive 68 on the fwy unless i am temporarily on the fast lane to pass people going slower than me.
And on the streets i never pass 3000rpm while driving! i always shift around 2800 and i am very smooth with my inputs making sure not to accelerate or brake abruptly... Grr! i wanna hit those high 30's and low 40's

oh THAT picture... hahaha well this was at like 12 o clock i night.. i sneaked into the back of the dealership with my friend and we were checking out the car while it was "undergoing sales process".. heh... i guess i was really excited
How much did the Honda locking fuel cap run you? Does it have a tether like the original? On a side note, I wonder if it is even possible to siphon the gas with the Fit's fuel tank being so far from the refueling access.
bought it from a member for $30 shipped, it's like $30 something if you buy it new, still trying to figure out how to fit the cap into the cable that's holding the original cap, the locking cap seems to be bigger at the top of the cap but the thread fits perfect
