Just purchased! As in when do you take delivery?

Congrats on your speedy recovery. How did you manage that?

It's like an early christmas for you.

Was it the same dealership as your original? Same salesman?
Did you have to pay over MSRP?

What happened to the high demand for FITs in your area? I thought it was supposed to be pretty long waits??

yeah demand is still super high out this way. but me and my wife feel extremely lucky for the simple fact that both times we decided to get a Fit we found them with no more than a days wait since they were on the dealer lots. but this time around we got the 5 Speed Manual Trans Sports (yay!) LoJack, all season mats, cargo tray, tint, extended warranty and GAP. paid MSRP for the car (took a nice 2 hours of talk though BUT WELL WORTH IT!) no dealer markup at all and they threw in the tint, mats and tray at no charge. only paid extra for the lojack, warranty, and GAP.

You must be one "smooth talker".

When others are unable to get a FIT you do the nearly impossible.

Amazing story. You must live right.

In any case you are in great shape now and back in business.

Now for the rest of us- can you reveal any secrets of negotiation that will work on a dealership.

The salesmen I have talked to seem immune to reason. They say sorry, our dealership already is making so little we can't sell it that low. I'm sure they know that demand is really high.

yeah seemed to be a good friday overall. i told them my situation with the total and pevious dealer (that seemed to spike there interest that they were in competition) then i told them the other dealer was gonna cut me some big brakes since we were previous customers and that pretty set them off sicne im assuming these 2 dealers had competition in the past with other customers. kinda played the part of getting a decent deal but walking out anyways....about 10 minutes i came back asked to give me a few things in or lower to msrp but we'd buy the lojack and that was pretty much it.

Nicely done. I'm sure they don't want to see business go to their competitor.

It's always good to walk out. Nicer when they come calling for you.

Maybe they were motivated to get the sale done due to meeting a quota for sales this week or this month. Some things are hidden.
