Fit in stock!

The Fit is in stock in Winnipeg. Winnipeg Honda has three. Two silver and one black. The silver is in the showroom. They are open to 9 tonight.

The magic seats are the best. The Fit is bigger then i was expecting. Looks like a winner, the Yaris has been WAY outdone.

Civic Motors in Ottawa contacted me about test driving a manual Fit Sport today. I forgot to ask what colour came in. I'll stop by on the way home and have a peek.

Wow, drove the Fit tonight. What a great car. Love that electric stearing. So little stock out there. I asked about a red Fit, they told me might be a month or so. They did want to promise anything. Great ride from a small car, and those magic seats are sweet. Lots of headroom in the back too. I drove the auto and it had some decent pep, not fast car but for a 1.5L it's above average.

Also the sticker on the door reads 50mpg hiway and 34? for city. And NO price movement, at all.

Fit Test Drive

Got a chance to see the real Canadian Fit today and did a test drive. Pleased to see on the sticker that it said 36 mpg city and 50 hiway. (or 7.8 L/100 km and 5.6 L/100 km). Dealers around here only seem to have the LX for test driving at the moment but expect the Sport in the next week or so (may be just manual however). I tried out the LX and wished the ride was a little less stiff but was told that the Sport has a smoother ride. We shall see....

Good thing I don't live near a Honda dealer in Ottawa as I would be going to test drive it and probably would want one. I would love to get the car, but I don't think it will "fit" my budget given the interest rates on them is too high. I do have 2 months to make a decision with the lease on my 02 Civic SiR hatch coming to an close at the end of May.

I'm not sure if I want a car payment yet. I've been car payment free for 6 years. Time will tell.

Yeah, I feel your pain. I'm in the same boat. Hate payments but my current car is costing over the year about $185/ month to fix, so it's gota go.

I haven't had a car payment for 13 years.

I also don't believe that prices can't be negotiated down. I just noticed a huge "100% negotiable" painted on the front window glass of a local Honda dealer.

Well that is the case when they have the car sitting on their lot, not so much when they are selling something they don't have in stock, or can't keep in stock (ie: new models).

I think people are giving up too easily and in too much of a rush.

I'll know in a week or two. I plan on talking to a salesman that has put a few of my coworkers into cars. We'll see what kind of deal he can swing.

I'm not giving up just yet, I am in somewhat of a rush since I will need a car come May 31st. Otherwise I would wait until the end of the year or until they offer decent financing.

???? Unless wheel size helps, why would the sport be any smoother?

Manual or auto. "I have a 5 speed Fit." All Fits in North America are 5 speed, talk about making it complicated eh?

Funny how the auto is worse in town, better on the highway.

I drove around a few dealerships today. One had 5 LX models on the lot, and the other had two LX on the lot. Both seemed to have a Sport in the showroom.
