car was too slow..........but I am in 4th gear and up to 3rd gear before most turns

I'll be putting on Federal RS-R 205 on my car. Due to the low price at $75 per tire point and I'll have a set of steelies they will be on. I'll keep the 747 since they don't seem to wear out great DD tire for sure, i still have 4/32 left on them after 3 autox and 1 track event and 20K of DD miles.

RS-R are the cheapest out of all under 200 tread wear tires.
They are known to be sticky right out like RS-3.
They don't take heat well....but that was done on heavier cars. The fit being so light and under powered should do better with these tires.
The side walls are comparable to RS-3.
They really don't work when it is wet.
They require a lot of time to cool down.

Cheap and fun sounds good to me.

Haven't updated it for a while but since then I've gone twice to the track. I hit up streets of willow again but last time I went it was the hottest month there the car was heat soaked and I had a dirty air filter. Even with the RS-R i ran 2 seconds slower then on all seasons. Last event I went to was in Sept at Horse Thief Mile CW and ran a 1.11. HTM is the track in SoCal for the fit and the funnest I had on the fit since there isn't much straight away.

the RS-R are good enough of a tire but even they are starting to chunk a bit after two events -

the fit would make a great auto-x car but i don't want to pick up cones anymore........

Hmm.... I was considering these tires, but even my RS3's looked like that after 3 AutoX events .... Still for the price....

I prefer to hand out time slips over picking up cones

Got back out there, weather was much better stayed in the 80s. Fastest time was 1.393 at Streets of Willow CW. As time went on I just got faster and more consistent.

run 1

run 2

run 3 (i had to fight the car a lot more to fight for grip coming out)
