I don't think the 08 RDX fob will work as the FCC ID on the back of it is not the same as the one for the Fit. Not sure about the 07 RDX fobs as I know they are different as they didn't have memory seats that year.

Fit - OUCGBD-38OH-A

RDX - N5F0602A1A

I have both in front of me at the moment, but the 07 TL fob may work...haven't been able to confirm what the FCC ID on those are...

There is also this option:

HONDA SWITCHBLADE REMOTE KEY CONVERSION CASE WOW!! - (eBay.ca item 350038348567 end time 25-Mar-08 22:39:51 EDT)

At least the transmitter will work as from the holes, it looks like ours will line up, but you would still have to get the key cut and move the immobilizer over...

BTW, this is what the key looks like dismantled.

As you can see, the blade itself will not work with the other DIY guides as it's too short. The small little thing is the immobilizer chip.

Update!

After reading through countless TL, TSX, RDX, Accord, CRV threads, I've found the following picture:

This is an Accord key fob and if you look very closely you can see that the FCC ID is an exact match of the Fit FCC ID. That means the TL fob WILL work with the Fit, but the immobilizer chip will not (you can identify this by the letter that is stamped on the blade of the key).

So you will probably have to buy a TL fob and have it cut to match your Fit key and then take it apart and switch the immobilizer chip.

I'll be heading to an acura dealer later today to see how much they are...and if they will cut it to a honda key...

No probs!

So, went to the Acura dealer today and talked to the parts guy. 07 TL fob memory seat 1 is CDN $43.07, while the memory seat 2 fob is CDN$132!!!

Ordered the key fob and he should have it by Saturday possibly Monday because of Good Friday.

He told me it would cost CDN$45 to get the key cut, but i'm going to get the fob first and make sure the keyless entry works first before doing anything else...

The process of setting up the keyless entry requires the key be in the ignition on these keys, so you'll likely have to have it cut ahead of time

Yes, I know you need to have a key to turn the ignition on and off, but you do can use any key to do that.

OK, found it out and good news and bad news.

The good news is that the TL fob works with the Fit but right now, only the Lock button works. The unlock and panic doesn't work.

I remember reading this in some of the other threads so i'll have to go back and research this a bit more.

OK, even more good news but also some more bad news.

The TL Fob DOES work with the Fit. Lock, Unlock, Panic all work (you have to unlink the memory seat function in the remote for the unlock & panic to work).

But the bad news is as follows:

This is what the key looks like when you take it apart from the housing:

unfortunately, the immobilizer chip is located here in the key:

so you'll need to dismantle the fob and then dig into the plastic surrounding the key and replace the chip with the one from your fit key...

Looks like i'll be trying that this coming weekend.
