Deka Battery Vs Odyssey Battery
Has anybody changed their battery?i have two finalist that i'm thinking to replace the YUASA battery on our FIT,DEKA OR ODYSSEY,After searching which one is better(weight, nominal capacity, size, cold cranking ampere, and the last but not the list PRICE.) i still cant decide. BRAILLE BATTERY was out of the equation because i believe its a rebadge DEKA,I might be wrong on this but after spending some time on the web SEARCHING it did convince me that it is a DEKA,aside from that its a whopping $189 plus shipping,i weigh the stock battery (YUASA) and its about 22 LBS, BRAILLE is 15 LBS according to their website, anyway lets go back to the TOP 2 finalist that im considering,DEKA OR ODYSSEY has anybody install this on their fit, please give me some feedback!

i have braille in my fit and it's fine. I do agree it's probably a rebadge deka. Stinger Audio batteries are rebadged Odyssey models.
Anyhow these batteries are good for daily because they need to keep their charge up. I had this same batteries in my AE86 and it would die in 3-4 days.
Oh btw I have a huge Odyssey battery in my truck and it hasn't failed on me. I've left that sitting for a week easy and I have an alarm on it.

I was told there were only a few battery manufacturers selling in the USA anyway.
I have used Deka in the past on other cars, worked fine.
If price is important, try a Wal-Mart or Sam's Club battery. They put the manufacture date right on the battery (no obscure codes) so you know it's fresh.
OTOH, I know a guy who always buys Interstate "buy-back" batteries, the ones that are too "old" to sell as fresh batteries. He says he spends $25 on each and they work fine in his daily drivers.

I am a huge fan of odyssey batterys. a 680 in my BMW motorcycle, a 680 in my 3.5L Maxima and a 545 (12lbs) in my fit.
Developed for the military, it would be difficult to find a better battery.

I'm hoping the Deka batteries are okay.. I bought one months ago to install but have yet to do it... It always shows a 100% charge when I hook a trickle charger to it where the OEM has dropped to 90% after sitting for a few weeks without being driven. It has always cranked up with ease though.
