hood chip
A stone must have hit my hood because there is a paint chip and a dimple!
I ordered the touch up paint. I know it will never look brand new again but I was wondering if anyone has any tips? Should I apply more than one coat of the touch up paint?
Should I wait for warm weather before applying the paint?

My main concern was water and rust because a rock chipped the paint all the way to the metal, so it's all good as long as it's protected. A few dark spots here and there just makes my Fit more unique. I can have the first spotted fit!
I feel your pain. I had a Ventureshield clear bra put on too when the car was fairly new, half the hood is covered but the chip ended up like.. an inch off of where the clear bra ends.. what a piss off. Not sure if you should apply multiple coats, try a thin layer first and see how it looks. Maybe you can apply the paint in your garage? or somewhere where it's a bit warmer than outside. I did mine in the garage and it ended up alright. Far from perfect but I'd rather have that than a small rust spot forming on the hood.
i had many rock chips last year (before my bumpers got repainted due to the paint peeling) and i ordered a touch-up pen from Honda Fit Accessories - Genuine Factory Honda Accessories, made by Honda for your Honda.
i put one EXTREMELY thin coat on after another, making sure they've dried in between, and yes, i would definitely wait for warm weather if you're able to.

I have no garage so I'll have to wait. Maybe I'll bring the pen to work and do it during the day when it's above freezing and sunny. I don't want to put it off for too long or else the rust will start!
On the pen it says to give it 24 hours before buffing. I assume that's curing time and not drying time?
It did... I was planning to get the whole hood wrapped in the spring too, just that my installer didn't have a roll that was wide enough to do it at the time. But in the clear bra's defense, it probably saved me from dozens of stone chips on the bumper and lower part of the hood.
Maybe see if there's an underground parking garage you can get into or something? Just another idea of where it might be warmer.
The paint should dry pretty quickly, definitely will not take 24 hours.
