I'll be using synthetic, used it for the entire life of my eclipse and that engine ran like a champ compared to all the other broken down eclipses :-P

I'll be using synthetic for all the changes on mine. Still haven't had to do my first one yet as I am only at 2700 miles. My dealer told me to go with 3750 intervals. I believe in the owners manual that is the recommended interval for use in "severe conditions" which I technically think I fall under since I am in stop and go traffic more times than not.

I follow the on-board maintenance minder, changed it last weekend at 20% with a little over 5k miles on mobile1.

I usually change mine at 6000-8000 km or so, possibly earlier, depending on how often I bring the car to the track.

For someone like me, i use this car as my daily driver...dont really think ill ever go over 12k a year would synthethic be the recommended choice. Im sorry to sound like a noob but my car before was an Rx8 and talk about a manitance machine...but i just want to make up my mind between regular and synthethic before i do the first oil change.

Full synthetic here

When I used reg'lar old Pennzoil 10W40 in my Buick, back in the day, I was good about changing it every 3000 miles. ('68 Buick Skylark, 350 Hi-Po motor, gotta love 60's American muscle!)

I've put about 7500 on my Fit since I bought it April 1st. I changed the oil at 6000 miles, 30% on the maintenance minder. It was still a medium to dark brown, so I think it still had some life. I replaced it with Mobil 1, and will continue to do so about every 5000 miles.

I'm not too worried about the synthetic oil breaking down (especially since I'm driving like a grandpa now, and getting 44mpg tanks in return). I ran Mobil 1 in my Saturn L300, and the engine still drives like it is new after 138,000 miles. I changed that every 5000 miles too. I know people say you can go longer, but I figure the filter still gets dirty no matter what kind of oil you are running.
