DIY: Independent Fogs
I believe you can do this. From the harness behind your steering wheel. The yellow/red wire that you cut to run to the fusebox with the "add-on circuit", instead, run it through the firewall to the parking lights. And bingo, there you go.
I havent tried it though, so read the disclaimer b4 blaming me for that advice. lol

I guess Atticus is no where to be found.

what if you take these "add a fuse" things, and put it into the empty fuse socket that only gets power with ignition, 22? or 23? i forget
then take the wire that comes off the Add a fuse, and tap it into the red/white wire on the fog light relay,
that is the wire that gets power when the headlights are on
but this way the wire will also receive power when the ig is on
what do you think?
so what everyone is doing is cutting and adding a separate power source to 1. and grounding at 2
but is it necessary to ground the red/white wire, it looks like it gets a ground already,
also by cutting at 2, aren't you loosing the power source that goes to the combination light switch unit, and the dimmer, has anyone checked the functionality of their dimmers?
also it looks like that power path goes right into the DRL circuit, so i don't know know it would effect that for Canadian models

No need to ground number the red/white wire. Dont even cut it.
Just cut the red/yellow from the steering wheel diagram shown in his DIY and run with an "add a fuse" to the #3 fuse slot. You'll notice that the number #3 slot already has a 10fuse in it so go ahead and take it out and add two 10 fuse to the "add a fuse" and stick it back in #3.
thanks for the update man, i dont think its stealing the thread, we all just want the best info as it comes along
can you just verify for me that the dimmer still works (you know the odometer knob, when the headlights are on dimms the stereo and dials etc) and that you have no ill effects, no high beam lights on, no dimming of the dash etc.. im really anal, when it comes to cutting wires.
also what fuse is #3? is it ignition switched, what is the circut for, radio?
also if anyone wants to always have power even with the key out, i found that fuse #22 (i think), but in the 20's is always on
and one more thing, does the top of the steering column that you remove, is that screwed in at all, on other cars ive had to remove the screws from the bottom half, as they went into the top and held the 2 peices together
also on the "add a fuse", it works (the circut is complete) with just one fuse, wouldn't it be safer to just use 1 10A fuse,
thanks
