DIY: Independent Fogs
SID
heres the rest of the diagram, the ground on the fog light relay is always there, it is power that is switched on when the headlights are switched on
(red/yel)
most other cars are oppisite like you proposed,
so what is happening is we are faking headlights on all the time as far as the fog light relay is concerned

Ok forget most of what I just said, does this sound right?
Do exactly the first step outlined on page one.
Cut the red/white behind the relay.

Take one side and run it to ground. Take the other side and cap it.

Locate fuse #13 in panel.(fog switch fuse)
Pull the fuse out.
Turn on ign switch and headlight switch to low beam only.
Find which side is hot and which is not on #13.
The cold side, run a wire with a blade terminal on one end from it to an add-a-fuse in socket #24.

No need to open the steering column at all.
I am going to try this tomorrow and let you guys know.
Done.

This is a different story. This thread is just to run the fods independently. The funny thing is that even after this mod of making the fods independant, everytime you turn on your high beams, the fogs turn off. I dont know whats up with that.
THERE IS NO NEED FOR DIAGRAMS!! Just looks more confusing.
I will post up the correct way and easiest way for the independant fog switch in a new thread. Please do not start adding $hit.
No need atticus. I added a new thread. You cool with this? I thanked you for your pics in it.
PS to everyone the way it is posted now WILL work!!
dont the fogs go off when you turn the high beams on with every car? it did on my integra and on my hatch... its simply a honda, if not every company, thing... btw atticus i got my fogs with my hids goin... it looks sweet... thanks... i just switched the poles around to low/ground... preciate it again buddy

Did mine this way today, total time including stopping half way thru to go pick up the wife was about 30 mins (first time soldering)
SO much happier with how it is, no pics as my car is filthy ATM.

digging up an old thread...
I'm currently haveing troubles with my highbeams not working at the moment, and was wondering if anyone else thats done this to there fit has had any problems with there highbeams as well?
Everything worked fine for a few months after doing this so doubt doing this was the problem, but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

If anyone else is interested, I just grounded the wire coming from the fog light relay to allow the fogs to stay on with the high beams.
I don't have to mess with turning the fogs on and off (they're not independent) but I have better visibility on those highway roads so I don't hit any critters.
I hadn't seen anyone else that just did this part so I thought I'd tell you YES, it works.

I am just wondering if i have to ground the red and white wire in the fogs relay if i dont care about the fogs being on with the highbeams? I just want independent fogs so i can turn them on without having to turn on my low beams. Thanks
Is this guide applicable to both the GD and the GE?
My only concern about running the high beams with the fogs is that it would overheat the harness and damage it. That was always the reason for not being able to run them together on my previous cars and assume it's for the better on the Fit.

Great wire up + rep I'm gonna use this to wire something else but defently easy to do I'm gonna do my aftermarket fogs ran with just a switch on the inside panel I have a base so I don't want to go the oem rout with the fogs I heard that I'd have to cut the bumper anyone done this on a base yet?
