Slow power windows
Slow power windows
Hello,
I've had my Fit not quite a year yet and it's still under warranty. I find my front passenger window very slow to raise. Both rear windows are also slow compared to the drivers front. Could this be due to that they are not used as often ?? I did recently tint the rears but they acted the same before the tint went on. Anybody else find this issue ?? I hate to take the car in and lose it for the day or sit and wait for something that is not really a problem. I have been doing my own oil changes and the car has not seen the dealer since I bought it last November. Thanks.

Our '07 Fit needed it's driver-side window motor (with regulator) replaced last spring. It had suddenly gotten slow, and we mentioned it when be brought the car in for it's recall on the wiring in the doorsill.
A SEARCH at that time didn't show any other topics on window motors or problems.

im having problems with my passenger window also. it will roll down all the way just by tapping the down switch on the drivers side. sometimes it wont even roll up, opening and closing the door a couple times seems to do the trick to get it to roll up...but its really annoying, especially if i need to roll the window up while driving and cant open/close the door. post back if you find anything out...
One thing that can happen is road dust, etc. getting on the btm. rubber seal. Also sun and rain can cause the rubber to get stiffer and grab more.
I use RainAway on both sides of the glass that helps it glide better.

All of my windows are way slower!! Also if I press the buttons for the rear windows quickly the rear window automatically go all the way down ??? I dont know weather to consider this a good or a bad thing because I know there not automatic windows
As simple as it sounds, the problem is normally caused by dirty windows. Give the glass a thorough clean, particularly the edges. Then get yourself a decent silicone lubricant spray and spray it into the sills. Make sure you don't get it on any trim/seats as it's not easy to get off.
^^ This is not from dirty windows. You probably have an electrical problem in the power window switch module in the driver door. If you search this site, you might find where someone posted a link to a story about a Jazz/Fit that caught fire from an electrical fault in the power window switch.
Alright - time to bring this post back to life. Has anyone found a fix for this? I tried installing some weathertech shades. however, once installed the window WILL NOT go up all the way - I dont want to push it too hard as I dont want to burn the motor out. Will lube alone fix this problem? Or should I be looking at a new motor? Seems like an awful lot to go through just to install some visors.
