Keeping pets off Fits
Keeping pets off Fits
So, I go outside today after washing and waxing the VBP for 4 hours to find my cat's paw prints all over it. Just a little graffiti trail of tiny feet walking up the hood, making a circle on the windshield, with a drunken stumbling path all from front to back of the roof and ending with a dive off the rear spoiler. Now of course, I know the first few answers to this upcoming question will be "Garage/cover your car." and "Shoot the cat!"
but we all know that the car will be out in the open at any period in time.
My question is: If my car is out in the open, what could I do to avoid having cats or other animals leave any smudge or mark it? Aside from garaging, covering, and shooting the animals.

This is a hard one because as long as your car is sitting outside it is going to be fair game for those four legged furry creatures that love to roam. I had trouble with keeping pigeons off mine at work and found that if I took some reynolds wrap and attached it to my atena on the Fit it would keep them from sitting and walking around on the car. Cats normally are very sensitive to smells and do not like moth balls or anything that smells like citris. You could try putting orange peelings around the car or moth balls and see if that will work. Otherwise a garage is my answer to keeping the car looking clean and paw free.

omg! i have smacked my cat for walking on my freshly washed car but he doesnt get the hint. i have to put my car cover on every night so i dont get paw prints on my car. it sucks because my cat wont walk on my car with the cover on and he only likes walking on freshly washed cars.
Here is a home remedy thats worked inside.. the worst thing you can do is try....
Cayenne Pepper (some folks say any kinda of pepper)... sprinkle it around where you park your car.
I found another place that said mothballs in a jar with holes in the lid (so scent escapes, but the cat can't eat the toxic mothballs.
But I'd say since it's your cat you can probably train him. Get a water gun and hide until you see him get on the car and blast his ass.

I've never heard of using a jar of mothballs before and have heard about using cayanne pepper, so I'll try those in the future. The citrus may not work for me though; my cats will hound you to death over certain fruits.
This happens to me all the time. Just washed and wax my car couple days ago and in the morning I see a trail of paw prints from my hood to the hood and down the hatch. And I dont even know whos cat it is.

When you're car is parked outside anything can and will happen. Kids on bikes used to keep me watching the window like crazy. There was a couple times I swore I saw a bike scrape my Fit and ran out to interrogate but there was no scratches.
What's wrong w/ some paw prints?? I am actually thinking about buying a series of vinyl pawprints to stick to my Fit. I am a big cat person and couldn't care less if my favorate baby sits on it (he does it from time to time but he's cleaner than my car). He sleeps in my bed every night and baths himself several times daily. I don't want my car to be cleaner than my bed. :-)
