Automatic Door lock/light turn off

Two questions/requests

Are there chips/computers or something that can make the car lock itself when it goes into drive/reverse and unlocks when goes into park. My parents rented a new-year [meaning i dont know what year but its very recent] chevy impala and it un/locked by itself by fault of shifting in out of park. fancy ill say, can the same be done to an 08 fit sport? and does the car lock itself after a few minutes out of the ignition? or is the car broken?

Before the fit i had a 07 honda Pilot. And the lights would turn off by itself after a few minutes when the key is out of the ignition. Now knowing car companies, most of them apply the same features to all thier cars. The fit i drive, doesn't turn off its light automaticly, is this the same for you guys? if so, is there a way to make it turn off automaticly?

most chevy cars have the auto lock feature. i dont think you can do it to a fit because honda doesnt have this feature. fit is an econ car so some of the fancy electrical features other cars have were skipped in the production of the fit.
