Sorry to bring an old thread back, but @Garyman do you have a link for those resistor kits? I tried to look on Capital Seating's website but I can't seem to find that kit.

Or does anyone else have a DIY for USDM Fits to bypass the SRS plugs?

hi,

Not sure but I cant find them on either their website or on eBay ? Maybe you could drop them a direct email and attach the pic posted on the thread and see if they have any or make you some?

Alternatively, you US guys tend to just put in a 2.2 ohm to bypass the SRS plug but I was never sure how you guys do it

Sorry couldnt be any further help

Gary

Yeah, I believe that's what most of the guys do here. But I just want something that's properly made just like that kit. And I'm also worried how to bypass the passenger side with the weight sensor.

Thanks for the info though!

LOL- i too prefer "doing it right" and went down the kit route- yes its more expensive but at least i know this will work for sure and safe.

I wasnt too comfortable finding an 2.2ohm fuse or whatever it is and then using a paper clip to reset the srs light

Are you going to drop Capital Seating an email and see if they have any kits available?

I already emailed them, just waiting for a reply. I really want to get aftermarket seats and it's just frustrating because of the side srs. I don't mind if I can only bypass through the driver side (passenger side would be a bonus), I just want it to be done right.

I'll let you guys know what Capital Seating says regarding this.

I got an email from Capital Seating today:

"Hi Jan

Thank you for your enquiry. These are universal air bag resistor kits,
and can be used in pretty much any vehicle. I would imagine these kits
would be suitable for use in your Honda models. They are only suitable
for bypassing the side airbags, not the weight sensor in the passenger
seat (there is a chance they will but as I cannot confirm it, I cannot
declare that it will be suitable).

I am happy to supply these directly to Canada. Was there a particular
quantity you were looking for?

Kind regards
Joe
Capital Seating"

And another update:

Apparently those kits are universal, meaning they could or couldn't work with our vehicles. But Joe from Capital Seating confirmed that they use a 2.2ohm resistor.

I've read a DIY on Honda-Tech that we can just cut a plug from a used/extra/scavenged srs airbag and solder a 2.2ohm resistor into the series.

I'm going to try that when I find a Recaro around my area.

Seems like Capital Seating have these kits again- I'm sure they would sell you one (two) directly but heres the ebay (uk) link

Thanks for the link, Garyman!
But I think I'm gonna snip some SRS plugs from the junkyard and just solder a 2ohm resistor to it. Since that's what the Capital Seating rep told me regarding how their kits work.
