Clutch Fluid

i know the clutch system works off brake fluid... but i also saw that the manual says use only honda stuff...

while i would normally ignore this on cars i know more about, i just wanted to double check:

can i use any basic dot 3/4 fluid in the clutch system? or do i have to use honda's?

thanks

I believe the manual calls for Honda Dot 3. I asked a serviceman at Honda why not any brand and he said Honda has certain additives they add specific to our cars. Otherwise I see no reason any other brand Dot 3 or 4 would not work.
