Maintenance Intervals

Hi folks,
Sorry for the silly question, but I have done some searching and even read my '07 service manual and can't find answers. My car hit 61k and I got the "B 1 3" maintenance minder code. I was expecting something different.

"3" is change transmission oil. Owners manual says "except MT." What is the interval for the MT?

When do people usually change their spark plugs and re-set the valve lash? I had expected this code ("4") to come up at 60k. My valves are certainly noiser than when new, so I'm thinking this may be due anyway.

I know I could wait for the code to come up, but I am puzzled why they do not state "general" service guidelines in the service manual. It's just "do what the maintenance minder says."

I have a daily commute of 25 miles each way, mostly highway.

Thanks!
Bman

"3" indicates a change for transmission fluid for Auto and Manual transmissions. The "except M/T" is referring to the flat-towing behind an RV - auto's are asked to change the fluid more frequently when flat towing.

Plugs are done roughly around 105k and will indicate a "4" Some change them out sooner. Valve lash and clearance is suppose to be done at "4" as well, in addition to any maintenance interval if they are loud.

This clarifies things a lot.

Thank you!
