First, take it to the dealer and have it repaired.

Now did the fan quit or did the fan continue blowing with only warm/hot air?

Random failures are not all that unusual on a new vehicle. That's why you have a warranty. We would like to think all new vehicles run without a problem. That doesn't always happen. I use to ferry brand new airplanes from the manufacturing plant and the number of failures where quite high during the first few hours. The worse one I had a was a clogged fuel line. Luckily aircraft have two fuel tanks.

On a 2012 that is definitely a warranty issue.

 

Did it come back on? It may have kicked off to avoid over exerting itself / freezing over.
