How to remove a sticker that is attached to the body without harming the paint?

what kind of sticker? vinyl or regular paper? water and soap would work for paper stickers and then just wipe away the residue with a little bit of WD40 and some paper towel. heat gun and a little bit of patience unrolling it would work for vinyl.

if paper type, i would soak it up real well with WD40 and keep applying more oil for 10-15min.

then use a squeegee or plastic razor and take it off.

if vinyl decal, i would heat it up a little bit with a small capacity heatgun, use my nail to catch the edge and pull it up while heating the adhesive. if the adhesive separates from the vinyl, no problem. you can use 3M adhesive remover or RC car motor spray/nitro cleaner on a soft towel to remove.

in both cases you have to wax your car afterwards as both WD40 and the cleaners noted above will remove wax.

I've found the citrus-based cleaners (Goo-Gone, etc.) work very well for removing the goo left over from removing stickers. Lint-free cotton rags work much better than paper towels for that.

yah, best would be soft microfiber towels. cotton is okay too if 100% but chances are they aren't even if they say so. and papertowels will swirl the finish if you scrub.

heat, peel and use wax to clean it off... a little elbow grease is better than harsh chemicals on paint.

yah, i suppose. while im old skool, im not very old skool with detailing so i let technology do the work for me. also elbow grease could potentially introduce more problems. like arthritis.

Well I also suggest the vinyl remover. because its the best choice of me always. It protect you paint from all demages. Don't use any other thing instead of vinyl. best of luck for you work.

I agree. Use a hair dryer to heat up the sticker and carefully remove it. Then clay bar the surface and apply a good wax.

For removing the residue thinner, spirit, alcohol and petrol are very effective. These will make sure the safety against any crack on the paint. you can also use heat gun or the hair drier for removing the stickers. But be care full while peeling off the stickers. your hand can be burnt. For your hand's safety you can peel off it with your nails from one corner. After that gradually remove it. Wish you best of luck dear.
