How to replace Coil Pack on 2008, 5-speed, Honda Fit

Hello,

I am new to this forum but found it as I was looking for explanations as to why my Fit will "cough" and jerk as I accelerate. From what I have gathered the coil pack should be the focus of my efforts to address this issue.

I change my own oil but other than that am not savvy in the art of auto mechanics HOWEVER I am more than willing to learn. If anyone is willing to describe step-by-step or direct me to a link to observe how this process looks, I would be greatly appreciative.

(this includes which parts to purchase (if there is a wholesale site to use that won't charge an arm and a leg that would be preferred) I'm assuming the part will be these (Ignition Coil | AutoZone.com) but am I supposed to purchase four of these?)

I realize this is a big request but would sincerely be grateful for any feedback/suggestions.
Thank you!

step one: remove coil pack
step two: unbolt coil pack
step three: install new coil pack

It's really easy on a GD and yes there are four, one per cylinder

To DiamondStarMonsters:

Thank you for the prompt response. Please excuse my ignorance but I am unsure where the coil pack is located on the engine. I've been trying to google this image but have been unsuccessful.

thank you!

Firewall side, up top. Behind the plastic valve-cover covering.

Super easy. Yeah, you will need to locate them first :P Aside from that, they basically unplug and then the new ones plug in.

That's the perfect link for this.

I'll give a shot at directions. I don't know if this is perfectly accurate, but if anything is off, it's going to be in-your-face obvious how to figure it out.

(Maybe disconnect the car battery first)

1. Locate the 4 coilpacks on the back of the engine (refer to the pictures in the link)
2. Locate the 4 connectors to the coilpacks and unplug each one (press the clip one each one to release it)
3. Use socket wrench to remove 4 bolts (one holding down each coilpack)
4. Pull out coilpacks
5. Put new ones in securely and bolt them in
7. Connect connectors (make sure they clip into place securely)

The end.

Oh and reconnect your car battery if you disconnected it. Haha.

Use a 10mm wrench or socket to remove the bolts holding them in.
