Headlight/Dimmer Switch Removal/Replacement

2007 Sport Fit

I have the dimmer switch ready for removal, except that the dash interferes. Is there an easy go-around besides dash or steering column removal?

According to this only the covers need to be removed. you need to view this with Internet explorer to see the photos. Click on the small grey boxes to open the photos.

Thanks for the input, but I have the covers removed, have the screws removed from the switch and have the connector disconnected. The switch will only come out so far before the dash enclosing the steering column interferes. Will probably take to dealership if a workaround cannot be found.

The lower part of the dash? If so those panels pull off as well . Just grab and yank.

So, after speaking with a Honda tech, my fears have been confirmed. The steering column must be unbolted and dropped enough for the switch to clear the dash. They are charging me an hour labor, so the job will cost close to $100.00. Looks like this pertains to the Fit only.
