Changing hatch & locks
Changing hatch & locks
Hi guys,
I've occasionally been reading this forum and decided to register to ask you guys a question.
I got in an accident with my Honda Fit 2007 (base model) and my rear door and bumper are damaged to the point that they are not repairable. The car structure is still fine though, and I found a rear door in perfect condition from the scrapyard.
However, I noticed it was a sports version, and it doesn't have any "physical lock" - I understand it usually locks remotely. However, it's a rare piece in good condition and in the right color. My car is not a sports version and doesn't currently have remote unlocking.
I was wondering if it would be complicated/costly to have this part installed on my car and have my car upgraded for remote unlocking. In other words, are base models pre-wired for remote unlocking and would using it be a simple question of 'activation' (including with this new 'alien' piece)
Thank you for your help
Thomas
