GD 07 - Mirrors don't work

The mirrors on my sport gd3 automatic have stopped working, I've checked the power window fuses, and power doors, they seem good. What can I do to test if it's the control button that's gone out. Both mirrors wont move, I can't find a fuse for it, and windows/locks still work.

The only feasible thing that comes to mind at this time is tracing out each individual wire from the mirror motors to the mirror switch itself and checking each wire for continuity. After that, see if you can power the mirror motors by bypassing the switch and going straight to a power source.

An alternative idea... If you haven't done the most recent power window master switch recall (I believe the campaign number is 13-090, it superceeds all the older window switch ones dating back to 2008/2009) then go in and have it done. You get a a new/updated power window switch that's already pre-wrapped with a new protective skirt.

Free new window switch and possible fix to your issue. If it doesn't work then you know that your part (the window switch) is indeed good. Haha

Hi, CuTeboi. If the two mirrors are not working, the first step to solve this problem is to test the mirrors command buttons with a multimeter to check whether there is voltage coming or if the buttons are defective. If you solve the problem, post which was the cause, so we can learn more.

Have a look at fuse number 22 (7.5A) in the underdash fusebox. If it is blown try replacing it and checking for function step by step. Ideally, by noting the moment when it blows again, you will be able to work out if it is a fault in the retract circuit, or left or right mirror, of movement left right or up and down. Then go investigating.

You might be very lucky and it works again because it blew over a temporary current surge. But that is unlikely. If it's blown, the fuse probably blew for a very good reason.

If it's not blown then post back and we can look at some tests.
