Hi all,
What's the best/cheapest place in the US to get coil packs (CM11-108 I believe) for my Fit?
It's an '03, 1.5L JDM model. Parts are ridiculously expensive here, but I'll be in the US for a bit soon, so was thinking to pick one up while there.

I've tried the AliExpress versions once before on a different Fit. I had mixed results, so would probably prefer to go a bit higher quality this time around.

Well, you have a couple of things going against you. The Honda Fit was not introduced here until 2007. So all of the USA based online parts listings for Fit (or Jazz) start at 2007. So I was not able to verify the number that you supplied CM11-108 is the correct number for your Jazz. If it is the correct number, I found that Honda used it in the 2003 -2011 Honda Civic Hybrid with a 1.3 engine.

So if all of the above is true then RockAuto.com lists several manufacturers coils starting at $15.59 TO $63.70 USD EACH. I have never replaced a coil on any of my Fits so I do not know what to recommend. I have seen many posts here recommending the Hitachi brand one and stating that Hitachi is the OEM coil that Honda used in the Fit.

That said It appears that the Honda CM11-108 is Hitachi #30521-PWA-003 OR IGC0051 and it is available for $36.79 from RockAuto.com.

That is the best I can do and PLEASE do not order these based on my research. There could easily be a flaw in what I did.

Let me know if I can help you any more. I frequently reship stuff to Canada and occasionally Australia for friends. They buy it here on line and ship it to me. I repackage it and send it on usually by US mail. I just sent some CNC parts to Edmunton, AB on Monday for a friend. The biggest thing I ever sent was 6 expensive motorhome windshields to Australia.

It would be much cheaper for you to carry the part(s) on the airplane as checked baggage than having me ship it through the mail.

 

Thanks for the tip on RockAuto. I'll look into them a bit. Yeah, one coil pack should be pretty easy to fit in my bags.

 

I used cheapie ebay coils and they work great. Why pay $50/ea for Hitachi coils.

Set of 4 for $25 shipped new. This set above and a set of OEM NGK IR plugs fixed my shuddering completely. The problem is not with the coils but with the coil boot connectors getting buildup and oxidation and having crappy coil spring connectors instead of a proper barrel connector.

 

I too have used inexpensive ebay coil packs in both our '08 Fits. I changed plugs and coil packs on both about a year ago around 100K miles and everything is working fine. One of the Fits had a bit of shudder and the plugs and coil packs fixed the proble.

 

I've had the opposite happen with cheap coils. I had a slight skip (much worse with the A/C on) and the new cheap coil (made by BYD) didn't fix it . New Hitachi coils (from CarQuest) eliminated the skip.

 

I would stick with Hitachi (oem for our fit here in the states).. I had my fair share of "ebay branded" coilpacks and its kind of a hit and miss. Last one I got literally did not last long and completely broke in half leaving the other half still intact to the spark plugs. Just stating my two cents but I never had any issues ordering from RockAuto
