For now its not CARB legal yet. My contact says that:

"We can not submit an application to CARB until the kit is physically active. We submit the product for review thereafter. This process than takes up to 12 months for feedback"

This is the response i recieved from K&N (replied within an hour)

"Thanks for writing. Yes, the specified intake system is for use with the 2007 Honda Fit 1.5L. Yes, there are plans to submit this intake system to CARB for exemption status. Unfortunately, I do not have a time frame for this as CARB’s current workload determines if/when exemption will be granted. Hope this helps."

I was also concerned abut the lack of CARB exemption, and Emailed K & N asking the same questions as the others. However, I ordered the kit anyway because my new car supposedly won't need a smog check untill 2011 (5 years after purchase). By that time the exemption will certainly be in effect, and I assume that California buyers of this intake will automatically be sent their CARB stickers.

just my .02 here, but that tubing looks awfully cheap. i find it hard to believe that they can't engineer the pipe to be 1 piece.

I asked K&N this and this was their response:

"Yes, once this intake system becomes CARB exempt you may contact us for issuance of an exemption sticker. We will email or fax a form that you may fill out and mail in to us along with proof of purchase of the intake system."

Show me another short ram/CAI that WILL have a CARB exemption sticker for an AT

I bought the AT because I couldnt wait for the 5MT, now i'm limited to modifications on the intake system because the tranny's in the way. Someone did mention in this thread that Injen is making a CAI for AT so I'll wait a bit for that but yeah, i think you get what i'm saying.

I dont think they rushed it, they did have my car for 1 week
Thats enough time to fab up different style of piping to reach the right gains.
Who knows you might get better results/gains for the MANUAL tranny since my FIT is AUTO.

Im really liking this intake each day, at low rpm it seems like its stock till you throttle it and yes Paulo107 I did recieve this kit for "free" since I was part of the R&D
