What to avoid?

I understand that the "which is best" questions can be subjective but are there any exhaust parts/brands that would not be on your possible list? I want to change out my stock muffler and put in a intake but there are so many I just can't figure out which to go with so I was hoping that you guys could help me narrow the field.

Thanks,
mj

no offense but this has been covered many many times about which is best. everyone has something different to say about everything. check HUGE exhaust thread up on top in the sticky section of the Fit Exhaust forum.

In general, to just give a bit of guidance, I always say stay away from the cheapo brands like Megan, Weapon R, etc. Ultimately, you get what you pay for, and it's better to have one really sweet top quality piece than a bunch of mediocre ones that cause grief in the end.

What you really need to do though is ask yourself what do you want to gain from the parts you're going to purchase -- i.e. do you want mainly looks? do you want mainly performance? do you want a little bit of noise, or want your teeth rattled? how important is price? do you want something everyone has, or something ungodly rare? etc. Make a list of the things that are most important to you, then use that to start eliminating parts from the ones you come across in your research. Eventually, you'll narrow it down to what suits your needs best.
