VS3 Voltage Stabilizer
VS3 Voltage Stabilizer
Hey guys,,
Mine came in the mail today. I'm going to install it later on this evening when I get off of work. Too bad the guy doesn't have any type of logo printed on the box. It looks nice. The wires are smaller than I thought. I thought these voltage stabilizers come with thickass wires.
Anyway,, It looks like we hook it up to the battery +/- terminals direct? I read the instructions over and over, but I'm weary about connecting both wires directly to the battery. But I'll wait for more info..

went under the hood to find a place to mount the VS3. The only place I found was in front of the battery. Well, when you bought the car, they sprayed the engine bay with oil stuff. YOU CAN'T USE DOUBLE SIDED TAPE! Bummer! I'm going to find something to mount it to. Then I'll take pics. Probably won't be today..
well...i mounted mine (at first) to the front of the battery box before i had my last station powerbox. It was a perfect fit and it stuck perfectly w/ double sided tape. When i got my intake, i had to remove the battery box so now i think ima stick it straight to the battery itself (i havn't done it yet). As for cleaning ur engine bay then using double sided tape, just get some rubbing alcohol or acetone and rub where u want to mount the thing so it doesn't stick to the cleaner. Then u should have a nice dry fingerprint and oil free surface.
I wanted to zip tie it near the brake fluid res. But I want it right in front of the battery box so that I know it's there! Kinda wierd to mod something without showing it. =) I'll figure something out..
I had posted this question on the T1R thread but no response:
Would this pose any danger to a mechanic unfamiliar with this thing? Could it be accidentally discharged and hurt someone? (Any significant amperage stored in the capacitors?)
Also, if you wanted to 'turn it off' for any reason, (performance testing?)would you simply disconnect the positive side or the negative side?
thanks!

Mr. Claymore--what is your take on these devices? Why wouldn't the factory just put something like this on the car if it was really helpful? (Or should I start a new thread to discuss the efficacy of voltage stabilizers?) I'd appreciate your opinion.
That's like askinng why our Fits didn't come with turbo/super chargers out of the factory.
Oh, I don't know--a few dollars (maybe pennies for a big automobile manufacturer) worth of electronics an very little R&D for a stabilizer is very different from a forced induction system.
if HONDA can't even put a dead pedal on a FIT ,you think they will put a VOLTAGE STABILIZER?

Whats the VS3? I have the T1R Volt Stabilizer and I love it.
I have the Ground wires, Volt Stabilizer, and the Ignition Booster which is actually a stabilizer also.
BIG difference in power when the AC is on. Much more responsive.
