Magnaflow Street Series custom axle-back

After seeing this post https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...axle-back.html I've been looking at getting a custom axle-back made and I found out that the muffler Ro Ja Boy posted up is most likely a Magnaflow Street Series muffler #14862. I think a lot of Magnaflow Street Series mufflers look good. I just need to measure out the length of the oem muffler and pipe and see how long I want the tip to be.

You can go check them out at MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust and there is some pricing at this site Street 5x8 Oval Body Mufflers with Tips. Enjoy!

BTW: The sound is supposed to be throaty. Do a search on youtube.com for some sound clips. I am only planning to put on an axle-back and thats it, so it should be pretty quiet unless you step on it.

Also, does anyone know what the size of the OEM muffler is and how long the tip is? TIA

If you get one, only get the single style tip. If you do dual, like you said 14862 only. Reminds me of the OEM EP3.
The size of the muffler? Are you worried about it not fitting under the bumper? Theres plenty of room under there.

Most shops stock those mufflers. Sometimes you can get a deal with the muffler cost and installed.

Put a highest bid of like $150-160. Sexy muffler.

I was actually looking at the 14830 or 14827 or 14816. It's between those three. I am guessing if it is a 4" tip then it won't stick out far enough while at the same time have clearance issues with the canister and the rear bumper. I guess I need to just go and look under there and measure the distance between the bumper and canister since it's probably best if they mount the canister in the similar spot.

Just make sure that when its installed (or whatever muffler you get) that it sits a finger width/gap under the bumper and a hair past the end of the bumper. This will reduce the chances of burning the bumper and getting what I call "Poop stains."
Hahah! My name for unburnt fuel residue.

I think I see what youre saying now. Youre worried that the canister is going to hit the bumper cover, so youre wondering what length tip to get? That shouldnt really be a problem with the base rear bumpers. The Sport rear lip needs an extra 2in or so just to clear.

See the extra length needed for the Sports? The canister actually ends in/at the rear bumper, then the long tip clears the lip.

Before the B-pipe the loop actually went into the bumper a little. Has some melted areas.
I just looked it up and it claims the tip is 8.5in. I dont believe that.

I think a 4in long tip will be plenty.

Yeah, it just really depends where I put the hangers on the muffler. That's all. I measured the mold on the exhaust for the tip to sit in and it is 4 inches wide. I know you can't see it standing next to the car, but I may just get a tip that will fit right in there. I want it as flush to the car as possible (1 finger gap with your advice). We'll see. PM me where you got your muffler work done and if they are worth going to. Thanks man.

I just went back out and measured the bottom of the bumper and such and I need 7 inches or so to get the tip to stick out as far as yours. Hmmmmmmm.....

I am leaning to the #14829 or the #14830. I just don't know about a 4" big tip. Dang!

Id cut an inch off that. 6in should be ok. All those tips are 6-7in long anyway.
Get a single tip.
