drop-in or CAI?

I'm looking for the best low to mid performance intake type for my FIT. I don't normaly go over 3k RPMs but I do "get on it" from time to time. I'd like to go with one of the SSI's or other chambered intakes but will not be able to afford that. Therefore I'm looking at two options types:

1. CAI

or

2. Drop in

Thanks for your input!

I'd say save your money. But if you are set on one go with a drop-in filter. If you never really go over 3000rpm. you won't notice really any difference anyway's.HKS make's a hybrid filter that's not oiled and look's pretty good for the money.

wont notice a diff at all with a drop in filter, ive heard that some have actually shown loss. cai get a cheap ebay one for under 100(including shipping in the usa). wont really notice anything with that but wont notice any losses and will def notice the growl in the high rpm range. its fun.

To be fair not all drop-in's cause HP lose's.Alot of tuner's in japan actually keep the stock airbox's and say they work just as well as CAI's.Plus you don't have the worry of injesting water/small rock damanging filter/and the need to clean the filter to get the best result's(oil will really trap the dirt in the filter).I had the K@N drop-in and you will notice a very slight increase of induction noise if that's what your looking for.Either way don't expect more than a 2RWHP increase at most(maybe).
