He is the 3" aluminum pipe I bought and I really really tired to use it because I has already bought it. I tried everything and moved the battery as far right as it would go right to the edge of the battery box. You can't cut the aluminum pipe to fit at the TB because of the radius of the bend is too large. If you cut it short enough then there is no room on the end of the pipe to Fit the silicone connector to the TB and there is the problem of necking down the 3" to match the 2 1/2 inch TB. The bend is just too big using 3" aluminum pipe.

I even went back to the turbo shop to see if they could make a custom bend with a smaller radius and they said no way that is the smallest radius you can make using 3" aluminum pipe.

see the thing is, i went SUPER ghetto on this mod. The way i got a 3 inch pipe to work is i went to ACE hardware and picked up a 90 degree PCV Plastic Pipe. The length is really short and realy looks like a stubby pipe.

If i can get a hold of a camera, i'll post pics before i go out to a local shop to build aluminum piping in a different diameter.

Well, yes 3" will work when it is a molded piece of plastic that has a kinked bend. I have that exact elbow on my car right now and it barely clears the battery. But I am going to switch over to metal piping, which 2.5" will be the largest diameter that can be used.

Ah, I see how Sid's fits so well. He used the 3" coupler, but that particular coupler comes with a rubber bushing so that it can be adapted to 2.5". Basically, it's a 3"-3"/2.5" coupler. AH HA I win!

Sid, would it be possible for you to write a detailed DIY on how you made this intake? It would help me, and prolly others, VERY much!!

Great look btw!

Using the OEM grommet, it's as tight as OEM.

I don't recommend using a 5/8" wood drill bit. That sh*t sucked, but that is all I had access to.

Where did they get the modular intake? Really? It is all in the original post for this thread and even shows up in some of the replies.
