on the fit the muffler is what restricts the most, not the bpipe, an axle back adds probably as much performance gain as a cat back. With better bpipe, you might get a couple more hp on the higher end.

Fixed for accuracy.

How about the Catalytic conv. being the most restrictive part of the exhaust system? I also heard that the header is not exhaust flow friendly..

Correct, but not as many people are willing to go through the hassle of failing emission tests for having no cat. As far as the header is concerned there have been several that claim to feel mid and high end torque and hp gain, but i have yet to see a before and after dyno test where the header was the only variable. Not saying it won't help (it certainly can't hurt) but i will not comment on definite gains without proof positive.

i thought the header was the most restrictive part of our exhaust system. i mean you can take out the cat. but your header is still restricting everything because its up there in the front.

but yes header +downpipe and cat are the most restrictive.

my buddy pulls away from me with his dme header.

its a nice gain.

I don't doubt it. I was just saying i have not seen before and after dynos proving that the header/test pipe had "X" amount of hp/tq gain. (not to say that they are not out there, NOR to say that they won't help -because they will-)

A test pipe will help significantly though, even without a header.

Addition to previous post. AJ PwR Jr. posted that a test pipe showed about 2hp across the board, but caused the car to run a bit lean. I asked how lean it was, and i am waiting for a reply. Will keep you guys posted to any info i come across.

Well in a previous thread I asked Oscar Jackson about the header theory and he says that the header on the is very restrictive by design and they have seen improvements with their header. I've also seen a couple of dynos showing with header installs and they all look pretty impressive. I had a DC header on my LS Integra (before the turbo kit) and I was keeping up/pulling on the older Si's 1999/2000.. i'm aslo waiting to hear what Ben has to say (i started that post )

Thanks. It's the thought that counts, but until you have a visible rep of 1 or more you can not actually "give" any points.

BTW, you got your rep from me.

BUMP for more exhaust clips! Who's got 'em? I will have them updated by the end of the night. If you post them, I will transfer them.
