K20 but keep it automatic?
K20 but keep it automatic?
I know there has been alot of talk about the K20 swap, so I don't want to beat that to death. I have an A/T Sport and love it!
My question is can I keep my car Auto but do this swap? Possibly K20 long block with K24 tranny? I am not saying I am going to proceed this way most probaly I end up going with the Kraftwerks kit whenever it gets released...2009 at this rate. I am just bored and curious. Thanks

Ok I found this on Honda-Tech:
Honda-Tech.com: Honda Fit: automatic k20(Base Acura RSX auto) Swap??

Seeing what they were talking about, you'd have to modify the frame, which is not something you'd want to do. If you going SC/TC, you can keep the AT, but if you want a franken-K20 with an AT, then you're going to have to spend some mad cash to get that working.
The engine cost isn't the problem. Getting that to run with the transmission in a non-K20 auto equipped car is your problem. Save your money and get the KWSC. That's not even me trying to discourage you to be different. It's just common sense. lol
