I have been wondering the same thing. I found a ram air scoop for now that will bring the temp down a couple degrees and then im gonna send my header and mani off to get coated. Here is a link to the ram air scoop so you can get an idea of what im talking about. haha. https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gaug...n-started.html. Maybe that will help you out.

There is potential for mosture to get in and rust even stainless headers, also a potential for the header to crack.

Sounds like a good idea, but I don't know if a CF scoop is maybe too aggressive for styling on my car. If I was going to go that route I would probably just pick up a whole new vented hood.

Talking

In my City there is a plastic panel under the wipers that you can take off near the hood, so you can pour brake fluid, so if you leave it off it will make the hot air come out. I think Fit has the same panel.

i think you're right! They are next to the vents that pull in air to the A/C, good find!

On each side of H badge stick in wet/dry vac floor attachment and let them come out on each side of the hood latch. They fit so tightly there is no need to strap them! Under $20 at Orchards or any place selling wet/dry shop vac and accessories.
With short ram set up I observed the drop in temperature at only 10-15mph unlike OEM set up which required $45mph+. Greater temperature drop too. Works great for stop and go city driving in hot climates.
Avoid thermal wraps by any means. They are last resort option. They trap heat(exactly what they were designed to do!) and make exhaust run even hotter. On my CRX, temperatures under extreme use caused metal of the DC headers to crystallize (changed metal properties on molecular level) and crack. Imagine dipping something in liquid oxygen and hitting it with a hammer. Same deal just opposite temperature extreme. Fortunately with extreme heat crystallization, crack appeared on the weakest point of the metal - next to a weld.

also, when i was doing my jdm conversion, there were plastic shrouds on each side of the radiator. seems pretty restrictive. take those out and im sure it will help.

what the?! i never heard of metal crystallizing. i thought it would just melt if it got hot enough. or vaporize even. anymore on this? i'm very interested and curious.

i had a go with the washer, raked hood.. 3 in the back and one in the front, nothin to drastic but looks well.. must post pics up wen i get home from wrk..

one question, does this put any stress on the bonnet/hood itself cos closing it seems to be bendin it slightly i think...
