i just think that if there cant be positive responces (sol) dont even bother. and GD3 did actually give props in his second post while adding why he wouldn't. And his reasons are valid for him. Not like he said he would put a steam enging in a stang...cmon

But, with that said...if it was legal in CA i wouldn't have an issue doing it. Budget minded with a buttload of parts out there is what would attract me.

Sorry if I came off wrong to anyone..but for crying out loud.. this is a forum . Sorry I have my own opinions.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't have an opinion, but it comes off as really harsh and unprofessional. I don't think that's SPE's style, since I've been to a few of your garage sales, which were cool events with nice reps.

Maybe I've become stuffy in my old age, but as a representative of a company, even if you're on a forum, what you say can directly reflect on where you work, and affect business negatively. It might not be the intent, but that's potentially how it can come across to the reader.

Anyway, back on-topic...

i also thought of this .Havind a gsr motor trans and ecu out back is the source of that thought. Don't think its stupid at all its lighter and has decent stock hp and is easier to tune.Plus my cost (not to mention other honda motors collectors) is cut almost by 75% by already having the motor trans and ecu

Everybody here realizes how much work this would be right. I mean custom mounts, custom cable to hydraulic conversion, custom dbw to cable throttle conversion, direct ignition to distributor cap conversion, what else, the b18c is an extra 70 lbs heavier than a k20 which is 110lbs heavier than the L15 so you're adding 180 pounds. oh yea more custom wiring since the fit dash doesn't work without its ecu, anything else?

i use to have a type R, have you ever driven one? that motor/tranny/LSD is badass! it would kick shit in a fit. if someone would rebuild an engine and tranny and wanted to put it in my fit for free, i would let em.

actually not "legal per say" but yes ga has no emissions ect so we dont care.
I had a 98 civic with a JDM ITR motor and CTR pistons and cams.. It was very nice reliable and quick and with the piggy back i got an astonoshing 35mpg freeway.. VTEC @ 6500 and 25 plus city rural mix.... Now the wierd things would be pulleys on wrong side.. exaust on wrong side.. no parts to steal ( motor mounts ect ftom other models like civic to teggie ect. dont think there are any real support.. Not to mention isnt the fit a cable tranny car? the b18s had the 2 bar linkage.. Could be worked out i know...
Plus youll have 3rd gear issues.. 5 speed trannny cause the 6 speed aftermarket stuff is more than a k20 swap.. so i say throw a k20 in add a set of subs in the rear relocate the battery as a balast get the 6 speed, working a/c cruise control.. less imissions worries.. the I in I vtec and the same or better HP than a lightly modded b18c....
Spend the extra money you would use on fabrication to be me a big fat ice cream from brusters or coldstone and have a great day......

actually i have delt with these guys for a few swaps and the verdict is in..
k20.....
cause
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30011 swap i bought 5 years ago.. for 4100 to my door

and http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30015....

reps please.. lol

but yes it can be done.. the drive by wire and linkages could be handled in a day.. dont know about the dashy no worky though.. and who needs a speedo anyways.....

this thread is hot with all the flames!

i will say this though....i dunno if i'd say the l15 is more 'advanced' than a b18c. newer yes. but the rest i dunno.

at any rate, both engine swaps are 'do-able', you can do ANYTHING if you want to. the b will be cheaper.

and while the k has major aftermarket support, b series are unstopable as far as support goes.
