so my friend has a fit and he has a turbo kit but does not wanna blow the engine so he was wondering if he needs to upgrade anything or if he needs to buy something else like a turbo timer or bigger fuel injectors? any help will be appreciated

A turbo timer doesnt save the motor. It just saves the turbo bearings and seals.
It all depends on what boost this person wants to run. 5-8psi the car is perfectly fine. Anything higher than 5-6psi Id suggest upgraded injectors. If youre going past 6psi an upgraded fuel pump as the T1R kit is having detonation problems.
HKS still uses the OEM injectors and fuel pump. But they run 4-5psi.

HKS is what, 4psi?
You should be fine with the stock injectors, like Ray was saying if you go up into 5 & 6psi then start looking at changing them out. Turbo Timer is also a must unless you want to sit around in the car warming it up and cooling it down every time you go somewhere. It is more of a convince feature in that regard.
Best thing you can to keep it running well is stay up on the maintenance. Your biggest enemy is heat, do what you can to keep good airflow under the hood and if you are running it on a hot track you may want to look into an oil cooler and more efficient radiator.

turbo timers are overrated and for lazy people. as long as you just cruise the car a few minits before your destination you'll be fine. now if you are hauling ass around neighborhoods then pulling into the garage and shutting it off you deserve to have your turbo fail. only time I see a turbo timer usefull is if your late for work. lol
If he keeps the HKS kit at the same boost level just leave it as is. Josh's was dead on 5psi I think? Even the tunes are pretty good on the kits. The timing is a bit high but it all works out.
But yes, adding more boost Id really suggest changing the injectors at least. From what I know RC's are the only company that makes injectors for the Fit.
Theyre about $400-$460 for the set.
As for turbo timers. I think turbo timers are more for oil cooled only turbos. Since the HKS pushes water and oil through the turbo its cooled plenty.
At the longest Id leave the car running for 30sec. During REALLY hard driving 1min.
30sec isnt really worth a turbo timer and hacking the ignition harness.
Id highly suggest your friend gets a water temp gauge. The turbo kits oil and water feeds heat the engine up quick. Ive noticed that on a friends Fit with the HKS kit.
