no, the Map sensor should allow for adjustmnt for the added air amount... it may throw a CEL sayig you have a fault TPS though since the mao reading will be alot higher than it should be for that specisid throttle position.

Should not cause any issues. It'll just be an error code from the computer telling you 2 sensors are getting different readings that don't fully correspond to the basemaps

If we get some info on what year and engine the TB is from I can tell everyone what code its throws.
I has a scanner.

would have to be the 2.5L from 1999-2001. I'm sure the 1.9 from 1996-1998 did not have a 64mm TB

Doesn't J's racing and Spoon both make a bigger throttle body for the Fit

Hmmmm, does this mean a performance TB for the Z3 would bolt right up as well

The OP was saying it didn't have them in post #10

Also, just looking into it a bit I see that the 325i, 320i of the same year (and even a few other BMW's) may have the same TB. I think you can source a TB for around 75$ at a junkyard

Here's my TB:

I found it in a junkyards for 75 euro...
I can only say It's a Bosch 0205003052, very common on Audi, Vw, Bmw ecc..
I assure you no CEL come on!! I've run it for long time.
As you can see in picture Jazz's TB is mounted in a different position compared to Fit.
You can see my gasket (coke!! + black silicon for gaskets).
What you cannot change is the inlet diameter of intake manifold, of course; so you have to build the internal reducer I told you.
Fuel consumption will decrease as you don't need to go over 3000 rpm now!!!
You'll feel the difference, trust me...

Can we shed a little more light on this? I am interested to know more before I go and dump some money on a used throttle body I won't ever be able to resell. From the one that supposedly works, I see a number of these on eBay - with photos.

Anyone care to do a little more research and report back?

A cone that goes from 64mm (throttle body) to 45mm (intake manifold).

If the factory DBW is only opening the throttle plate 80%, or whatever it is people say, then this throttle body would still help since 80% of a bigger throttle plate is lots more air.

I also wonder what the inside of the manifold looks like where the throttle body mounts. There might be quite a bit of room to open it up.

This throttle body also sounds like it would be a good match for that aftermarket manifold that is currently on the market - it probably has a larger opening for the throttle body.
